Accepting Jesus into Your Life

The most important decision you can make in life is to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. The Bible clearly teaches that we all need salvation, and that Jesus is the only way to be saved and receive eternal life.

Why Do We Need Salvation?
The Bible tells us that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). Our sin separates us from God, and the consequence of sin is death (Romans 6:23). But God, in His great love, sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins so we could be forgiven and restored to a right relationship with Him. As John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Jesus is the Only Way to Salvation
Jesus Himself said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14:6). Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection that we can receive forgiveness and eternal life.

How to Be Saved:

  1. Acknowledge Your Sin – We must first recognize our need for a Savior because of our sin (Romans 3:23).
  2. Believe in Jesus Christ – Believe that Jesus died for your sins and rose from the dead, defeating death and offering you eternal life (Romans 10:9-10).
  3. Confess and Repent – Confess your sins to God, ask for His forgiveness, and turn away from your old life of sin (1 John 1:9, Acts 3:19).
  4. Receive Jesus as Your Savior – By faith, invite Jesus into your life as Lord and Savior, surrendering to Him and trusting in His grace (Ephesians 2:8-9).

You can pray a simple prayer like this:

"Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner in need of Your grace. I believe You died for my sins and rose again so I could have eternal life. I ask for Your forgiveness, and I turn from my sins. I invite You into my heart and life, and I want to follow You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. Amen."

If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart, welcome to the family of God! You are now a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), and your sins are forgiven.
