Come As You Are: Let God’s Love Change You

Come As You Are: Let God’s Love Change You

One of the biggest misconceptions people have about God is that you have to “clean yourself up” before you can come to Him. That you need to stop sinning, break every bad habit, and become this picture-perfect version of yourself before you’re even worthy of His presence.

But the truth is that you don’t have to do that. God isn’t asking you to fix yourself before approaching Him. He’s asking you to come to Him as you are.Its His love that does the transformation so you don’t have to stay as you are.

You don’t have to carry the weight of your mistakes or your shame. You don’t have to wait until you’ve got it all together. Because if we’re being real we’ll never truly “have it all together.” That’s why we need Him in the first place.

When you begin to spend time with God, everything starts to change because His love transforms you from the inside out.

It’s in His Word that you learn who He really is.
It’s in His presence that you experience a love that heals and restores.
It’s in relationship with Him that you learn how to truly love not just God, but yourself and others.

God’s love changes the way you see life. It changes the way you see yourself. It changes the way you see other people.

So if you’ve been holding back from God because you feel “too messed up,” let this be your reminder: He already knows your struggles and sees your flaws. And still, His invitation remains the same.

You don’t have to fix yourself before meeting Jesus.
You’ll be transformed because you met Him.

A Prayer to Come As You Are
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for loving me right where I am. Thank You that I don’t have to be perfect to come to You, because Your arms are always open. Lord, help me to lay down the things I’ve been trying to carry on my own. Teach me to rest in Your presence and to trust in Your love. Change my heart from the inside out and remind me daily that my identity is found in You, not in my mistakes.

Draw me closer to You, and let Your love overflow through my life so that others may see You in me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
